Researchers from Johns Hopkins University discover brain-training method to improve working memory

The researchers at Johns Hopkins University have made a groundbreaking discovery in the field of cognitive training. They have found that a specific brain-training method can significantly improve working memory, a key component of our daily cognitive function.

Furthermore, the participants who engaged in the dual n-back task also showed changes in the activity of the prefrontal cortex, a brain region crucial for attention and memory. This suggests that the dual n-back task specifically targets the brain areas responsible for real-world problem-solving tasks.

The researchers are now focused on understanding why the dual n-back task is so effective in enhancing working memory. They hope to adapt this exercise for consumer use or clinical applications in the future.
